Your destination wedding
in Catalonia
A ceremony overlooking the Mediterranean, a garden filled with your favorite people, dinner beneath the stars. Your destination wedding in Catalonia can take many forms. I’m here to photograph the place you choose and, above all, what it feels like to celebrate there together.
Hello, I’m
Alejandro Cebrián.
Since 2015, I’ve photographed more than 300 weddings. I’m drawn to real expressions and a considered use of light, with an editorial sensibility that leaves room for the unexpected.
When you’re arranging a wedding from another country, clear communication matters. We can plan your photography in English and talk through the location, the coverage and what you most want to remember. I’ll give you practical advice about the photographs while your planner and venue coordinate the wider celebration.
Bring your people.
Make it yours.
Getting married abroad is often about more than choosing a beautiful backdrop. It can mean seeing friends from different countries at the same table, introducing your families to a place you love, or having a few days together instead of a single evening.
Catalonia gives you very different settings within one region: the coast around Sitges and the Maresme, the coves of the Costa Brava, and country estates in the Empordà or near Barcelona. The right choice starts with the kind of celebration you want and where your guests will stay.
Beautiful photographs.
A wedding you get to enjoy.
My approach combines the moments that happen on their own with portraits that give light and composition a little more attention. I’ll watch for the reactions during the ceremony, the conversations around the tables and the joy when the party gets going.
For your couple portraits, I’ll give you simple guidance so you feel comfortable without needing to know how to pose. We’ll choose a nearby location and a sensible window of time. I want the photographs to feel like you, and I want you to spend the day with the people who traveled to be there.
Where in Catalonia
feels like your wedding?
Start with the experience you want to share: time by the sea, a countryside gathering or a celebration connected to a city stay. These are different directions to explore, with real wedding galleries to help you picture the atmosphere.
Barcelona surroundings and the Maresme
If you want guests to spend part of their trip in Barcelona, look at how your venue connects with their accommodation. Alella and the wider Maresme offer garden and estate settings outside the city; La Finka 4.1 in Alella is one example you can explore through my photographs.
Costa Brava and the Empordà
A coastal hotel, a countryside masia and an estate near a village create very different weekends. Mas Terrats is in Pontós, inland in the Empordà, rather than on the beach. Clémence and Raoul’s celebration is a real example of how a wedding can connect a coastal ceremony with a countryside reception.
Sitges surroundings and the southern coast
If the sea is central to your plans, compare the ceremony view with the spaces you’ll use for dinner and dancing. Casa del Mar is in Sant Pere de Ribes, near Sitges, and brings the Mediterranean into the setting. You can see that relationship between people and place in María and Álex’s report.
A few spaces
worth exploring.
A venue shortlist becomes much more useful when you compare the spaces behind the headline photograph. Look at the ceremony, dinner, indoor alternative and guest accommodation as one plan.
La Centenaria 1779 · Gavà
Gardens, mature trees and an Orangerie give this estate several distinct settings within the same celebration. Consider how you would move between them and which spaces are included in your booking.
La Finka 4.1 · Alella
Its combination of natural surroundings and different indoor and outdoor spaces allows for a wedding with its own character. I’d look closely at the ceremony orientation and how you want the garden to feel during cocktail hour.
Mas Terrats · Pontós
A countryside setting in the Empordà for couples drawn to an estate celebration. If you’re considering a longer stay, ask the venue for the exact accommodation, event access and services included in your proposal.
Clémence & Raoul
a celebration in the Empordà.
Their ceremony took place in Sant Martí d’Empúries, followed by the celebration at Mas Terrats in Pontós. The gallery follows the wedding through different places and moments, from the ceremony to the reception after dark.
Look at a complete story when you’re choosing your photographer. It shows how the portraits sit alongside the guests, the changing light and the atmosphere of the evening. That continuity matters just as much as a striking photograph of the venue.
Planning from abroad,
one conversation at a time.
Tell me what you have so far
Your date, the ceremony and reception locations, and an outline of your plans are enough to begin. If you’re still choosing a venue, tell me the area you’re considering. We can arrange a video call at a time that works across time zones.
Choose the coverage you need
We’ll discuss preparations, ceremony times, portraits and the part of the party you want photographed. If several moments happen at once, we can consider an additional photographer. The proposal will set out the team, coverage and agreed deliverables.
Connect the photography to the day
Closer to the wedding, I’ll review the schedule and locations with you. We can coordinate with your planner or venue on portrait timing, speeches and changes of space. That preparation gives us room to respond naturally when the celebration begins.
Think about the season.
Then look at the light.
There isn’t a single best month for every destination wedding in Catalonia. A coastal terrace, a shaded garden and an inland estate can feel very different on the same date. I’d choose the season around how you want to celebrate, then check the practical plan at the venue.
For outdoor summer ceremonies, discuss shade and guest comfort with your team. Earlier sunsets in the cooler months mean portraits may need to happen sooner. Whatever the season, ask to see the indoor alternative and how the celebration would work if the weather changes.
A little time near sunset
If evening portraits matter to you, we can keep a short, flexible window for them. I’ll consider the venue’s orientation and the actual sunset for your date, because trees, buildings and hills can hide the sun earlier.
Golden light is a possibility rather than a promise. Soft cloud cover, sheltered spaces and the atmosphere after dark can all become part of your wedding story. The plan should help you enjoy the day, with enough flexibility to use the light we have.
A wedding day.
Or a whole weekend.
A welcome gathering can be the first time all your guests meet. A separate couple session can give you space to explore a meaningful location without leaving the wedding. If those moments are important to you, we can discuss photographing them as well.
Welcome parties, pre-wedding sessions and post-wedding sessions are arranged separately according to your plans and availability. Tell me which events you’re considering and I’ll include the relevant coverage, travel and team details in the proposal.
A few questions
before you book.
How much does destination wedding photography in Catalonia cost?
The quote depends on the coverage, the team, the locations and whether you’d like photography, video or additional events. Send me your date and an outline of your wedding, and I’ll prepare a written proposal. You’ll be able to review the agreed services and total price before booking.
What is included in your wedding photography collection?
We’ll define the coverage and the number of photographers around your celebration. Your proposal will describe the selection and editing of the images, the online gallery, delivery details and any chosen extras. Albums, analog film and additional sessions can be discussed as part of that conversation.
Do you offer wedding video as well?
Yes, photography and video can be planned together. We’ll discuss the team and the films you’d like before preparing the proposal. The scope and deliverables will be explained so you can choose what suits your wedding.
Can we arrange everything in English?
Yes. We can communicate in English by email and on a video call, from the first inquiry through the photography planning. Share your time zone when we arrange the call and we’ll find a suitable time.
Are travel and accommodation included?
That depends on the wedding locations, schedule and coverage you choose. If travel or accommodation expenses apply, they’ll be stated in the proposal. I’ll need the ceremony and reception locations, plus the details of any additional events, to confirm the full cost.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
I’ll adapt the photographs to the conditions and the sheltered or indoor spaces available within your booking. We can review those alternatives with your venue beforehand. If the weather clears, we can consider a short outdoor session without making the day depend on it.
Can you photograph our welcome party or a separate couple session?
Yes, we can discuss additional events and sessions alongside the wedding itself. Let me know the dates, locations and moments you want covered. Availability, coverage and any related expenses will be set out in your proposal.
Tell me about
your Catalonia wedding.
Send me your date, the venue if you have one, and a few lines about the celebration you’re imagining. I’ll check availability and we can start shaping a photography proposal around your plans.
