Spain wedding photographer
You’ve found a place in Spain where you want to bring everyone together. I’m here to photograph what happens when you do: the nerves before the ceremony, the people leaning into your speeches, and the party you wish would last a little longer.
I’m Alejandro, a Barcelona-based destination wedding photographer. I combine a documentary approach with gently directed portraits, creating photographs that feel personal, considered, and full of the life of your celebration.

A conversation in your language
Beautiful photographs, and time to enjoy the people in them
Your friends have crossed an ocean. Your families may be meeting for the first time. You want photographs of the place you chose, of course, but you also want to spend the day inside the celebration rather than watching it happen from a portrait session.
That’s the balance I work toward. I pay attention to the unscripted moments and make space for portraits with clear, gentle direction. We can keep those sessions close to the celebration, so you have photographs of the two of you and memories of actually being with everyone else.
Start with complete wedding stories
A few favorite photographs can introduce a style. A complete wedding story shows you how it holds together: preparations, a ceremony in changing light, the people at the back of the room, and the dance floor. These weddings were photographed in Catalonia, where much of my portfolio has grown.
La Baronia
Historic architecture and an outdoor ceremony, with quiet portraits and the moments unfolding around them. Look for the small exchanges as well as the wider setting.
Mas Pastora, Costa Brava
Britt and Daniel’s celebration in Llafranc brings family and friends into a garden setting. Follow the atmosphere from the ceremony into the celebrations afterward.
La Roureda
A wedding with room for the whole gathering: the couple, their guests, and the party. See how the photographs change as the day moves into the evening.
You’ll be talking to the person behind the camera
Hi, I’m Alejandro Cebrián. I’ve photographed more than 300 weddings since 2015, and I’m based in Barcelona. I’m available to travel throughout Spain, with the photography, team, and travel arrangements agreed around your particular wedding.
Before we talk about portrait locations, I’d love to hear about your people. Who is traveling the farthest? Which moments are you most excited about? Is there someone you want me to pay particular attention to? Getting to know those details makes a difference to the photographs I look for.
We can plan in English, Spanish, or Catalan. If you’re organizing the wedding from the United States, we can meet by video call and work around your time zone. You don’t need a finished schedule before getting in touch.
Feeling at ease makes a difference

The place sets the scene. Your people make the story.
Spain offers very different settings for a wedding, and I’d build the photography around the place you’ve actually chosen. These are areas I’m available to travel to, rather than a claim that every destination appears in my portfolio. If your venue is already booked, its name is a much better starting point than a long list of landmarks.
Barcelona & the Catalan countryside
A city celebration and an estate wedding outside Barcelona call for different plans. I’d look at your getting-ready locations, the ceremony, and where everyone gathers afterward before suggesting portraits. La Baronia and La Roureda, linked above, show two countryside celebrations from my portfolio.
Costa Brava & the Empordà
Coastal gardens, villages, and inland estates give this region more than one atmosphere. If your wedding is at a castle or country property, we can make the most of that setting rather than build the afternoon around a drive to the beach. Explore my Costa Brava wedding photography page.
Seville & Andalusia
A courtyard in Seville and a countryside hacienda create different possibilities for the day. I’d think about shade, the route between events, and a portrait window that lets you enjoy the evening. My Seville hacienda guide introduces several venue ideas in Spanish.
Madrid & central Spain
If you’re celebrating in Madrid or at an estate beyond the city, send me the addresses and draft schedule. Keeping portraits close to the wedding can be more enjoyable than trying to add a sightseeing route. A separate session is an option if you want photographs in a different setting.
Mallorca, Menorca & Ibiza
For an island wedding, I’d plan around the property, the events you want covered, and the time needed for travel. A sea view is one possibility; a garden, courtyard, or dinner outdoors may be what you remember most. We’ll make the travel arrangements explicit in your proposal.
Northern Spain & other destinations
If your plans take you elsewhere, I’d love to hear about them. Send the venue, date, and the kind of gathering you’re planning. We can discuss the photography and an indoor alternative with your venue or planner, choosing the coverage around your actual celebration.
What do you want to remember about being there?
Maybe it’s dinner under the trees, a small ceremony with your parents close by, or the moment your friends finally meet each other. Those details tell me more than a mood board alone. They help us choose where photography needs time, and where I should simply let the day happen.
A venue can give us everything we need
Before adding another location, I’d explore what your venue already offers. A shaded garden, a room with beautiful window light, and the walk between the ceremony and dinner can give the gallery variety without taking you away for an hour. These are examples from wedding stories on my website, with the place clearly identified.
Castell de Peralada · Empordà
A castle setting in inland Catalonia. Look through the portraits and venue surroundings, then consider how those spaces could fit around the people and moments at your own wedding.
La Farinera Sant Lluís · Alt Empordà
An estate celebration that continues into the evening. The wedding story is a useful way to see how quieter photographs and the energy of a party can sit together in one gallery.
If you’re still choosing a setting, my wedding venue directory includes more ideas and notes in Spanish. Once you have a shortlist, we can talk about the ceremony position, preparations, indoor spaces, and how much moving around the day would involve.
Planning from the US should still feel personal
You should be able to understand the photography and meet your photographer before booking a flight. We can begin with a video call in English, talk through the celebration, and put the coverage and arrangements into a proposal you can review at home.
One conversation before a detailed plan
Tell me your date, venue or shortlist, guest count, and which events matter to you. If you’re bringing together different traditions or languages, I’d love to hear about that too. I can help you consider the photography without asking you to settle every detail at once.
A shared plan with your wedding team
Before the wedding, I’ll review the addresses, timings, family photographs, and portrait opportunities with you. With your permission, I can coordinate those details with your planner. The aim is for the photography to work as part of the celebration you’ve planned.
What does a wedding photographer in Spain cost?
My full-day wedding photography collections start at €2,500, including VAT. Travel within Catalonia is included; for other destinations in Spain, any travel and accommodation costs will be detailed in your proposal. The final quote depends on your coverage, team, and the events you’d like photographed.
Full-day collections include approximately ten hours of coverage, at least 700 edited photographs delivered in color and black and white, and a private online gallery for twelve months. We’ll confirm the collection and delivery details before booking. Additional events, film, video, and other options can be discussed around your plans.
The time and the team
We’ll discuss the events, hours, getting-ready locations, and whether moments happen in two places at once. Around ten hours can be a starting point for a full wedding day. A second photographer or a welcome event can change the scope, so I’ll explain the recommendation.
The complete cost of the coverage
Your proposal will be in euros, with VAT and agreed travel or accommodation costs clearly explained. Ask about any additional hours and optional services before comparing totals. If you’re budgeting in dollars, use the euro amount in the proposal as the reference when checking the current exchange rate.
What you receive afterward
We’ll set out the edited photographs, gallery delivery, expected timeframe, and any film, video, or album you choose. We’ll also confirm who is photographing the wedding. Those details help you compare services more meaningfully than a headline fee alone.
If you’re wondering whether a particular dollar budget is enough, send me the date, location, and coverage you have in mind. I can give you a specific answer about my services. I’d rather help you understand a real proposal than suggest a national average that may have little to do with your celebration.
The wedding day may be only part of it
Your welcome dinner might be the first time everyone is in the same room. The evening before the wedding can have its own energy: fewer formalities, long conversations, and the excitement of what’s coming next. If that matters to you, we can include it in the story.
We can discuss a rehearsal dinner, welcome gathering, intimate ceremony, or a couple session on another day. We’ll agree the coverage for each event rather than assume the whole trip needs a camera. A separate portrait session can also give you time in a favorite place without leaving your guests on the wedding day.
A few decisions that make photographs easier
Keep the portrait route short
We can begin with around 15–20 minutes near the ceremony or reception, then consider a few more minutes later if the light adds something different. That gives us a useful starting point, not a rigid rule. You should know where we’re going and how long we expect to be away.
Make family photographs personal
Prepare the combinations you really want and choose someone who knows the family to help gather everyone. We can adapt the order for older relatives or people who need to leave early. A manageable list leaves more time for the spontaneous photographs around it.
Give the evening its own rhythm
I’ll work with the actual order of dinner, speeches, and dancing. If you’d love sunset portraits, we can find a brief window with your planner instead of interrupting a moment you want to experience. The venue may fall into shade earlier than the published sunset time.
My wedding photography timeline guide explains some of those choices. We’ll adapt the plan to your venue, traditions, and priorities rather than fit your day into a template.
Choosing your season means choosing a place, too
A month alone won’t tell us how to plan a wedding anywhere in Spain. These three references show the differences between Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville. They don’t describe the islands, the northern coast, mountain venues, or every property around those cities.
Open a city below to compare all twelve months. Temperatures are historical averages rather than a forecast. Sunrise and sunset assume a clear theoretical horizon; the usable light at your venue can end earlier behind a building, hill, or courtyard wall.

Once you’ve chosen a venue, we can look at shade during the ceremony, the indoor alternative, and how portraits fit into the available daylight. I’d make those decisions around the spaces you’ll use, then review the forecast closer to the wedding.
Digital photography, analog film, and wedding video
Digital photographs are the foundation of my coverage. If you’re drawn to analog film, we can discuss adding it to the story and look at examples together. I’ll explain how it complements the digital photographs and set out the option in your proposal.
Wedding video can bring back voices, vows, and speeches in another way. We can prepare a coordinated photography and video proposal, with the team and deliverables agreed before booking. Choose the combination that matters to you, with a clear understanding of what each service includes.
Questions before you book a wedding photographer in Spain
Are you based in Spain?
Yes. I’m Alejandro Cebrián, the photographer behind Sunnydays, based in Barcelona and available to travel throughout Spain. We’ll agree the coverage and travel arrangements for your particular wedding before booking.
Do you speak English and work with couples planning from the US?
Yes. We can plan your wedding photography in English by email and video call. Tell me your time zone when we arrange a conversation. I also speak Spanish and Catalan, which can help when coordinating the photography with your wedding team.
How do we choose the right wedding photographer in Spain?
Look beyond a few highlights: ask to see complete galleries, find out who will photograph the wedding, and talk about how you want the day to feel. Compare the coverage, travel, delivery, and communication as well as the price. A call can help you decide whether the working relationship feels comfortable.
How much is wedding photography, and are travel costs included?
My full-day collections start at €2,500, including VAT and travel within Catalonia. For weddings elsewhere in Spain, any travel and accommodation costs will be detailed in your proposal. The total depends on the coverage, team, and any additional events or services you choose.
Is a $4,000 or $5,000 photography budget enough?
It depends on the services, dates, and coverage you need. I wouldn’t treat a dollar amount as a universal benchmark. Tell me your plans and budget, and I can explain what I can offer in a proposal in euros, including any agreed travel costs.
Can you photograph our welcome dinner or a small wedding?
Yes, subject to availability. We can discuss a welcome gathering, rehearsal dinner, intimate wedding, or a separate couple session. The proposal will specify the events, hours, and team, so you can choose the coverage that adds something meaningful to your celebration.
We’re uncomfortable posing. How do you handle portraits?
I’ll give you simple direction and work with the light, rather than leave you guessing what to do. We can keep the session brief and close to the celebration. During the rest of the day, I focus on the people and moments already in front of me.
Can you work with our planner and a second photographer?
Yes. I can coordinate the photography plan with your planner and discuss a second photographer when the schedule or locations call for one. We’ll confirm the team and responsibilities in the proposal rather than assume every wedding needs the same arrangement.
What if it rains or the venue is very hot?
We’ll discuss shade, nearby interiors, and an alternative portrait location before the wedding. Closer to the date, we can review the forecast with your planner or venue. The monthly tables on this page help with early planning but don’t predict the conditions on your day.
When and how will we receive our photographs?
Your edited photographs will be delivered through an online gallery. The proposal and contract will confirm the delivery timeframe, gallery access, and included products. We can also discuss albums and any other options you’d like before booking.
Where were the photographs on this page taken?
The wedding photographs shown here are from celebrations in Catalonia, including La Baronia, La Roureda, Mas Pastora, Cortal Gran, Castell de Peralada, and La Farinera Sant Lluís. The linked wedding stories let you explore those settings and my approach in more detail.
How do we book?
Send your date, venue or shortlist, and a little about the events you’re planning. I’ll confirm availability, we’ll talk, and you’ll receive a proposal. Your date is reserved after the agreed contract and reservation payment are completed.
